HB Sax is a Melbourne, Australia-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and educator originally from New Zealand. His passion for music began at the age of five on piano, later expanding to saxophone, flute and clarinet. He graduated from the New Zealand School of Music in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Jazz Performance. His early career saw him performing with some of Wellington, New Zealand’s finest musicians and DJs across a variety of groups and live music venues.

With over 10 years of international touring experience, HB Sax has performed in more than 1,000 shows across 27 countries. Career highlights include performances at London Palladium, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Massey Hall in Toronto, Harpa Concert Hall in Iceland, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg and Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna. These performances included supporting Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Belinda Davids in The Greatest Love of All Show, a tribute to Whitney Houston.

HB Sax has also toured internationally with a range of tribute productions celebrating the music of Michael Jackson, ABBA, Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, David Bowie and Neil Diamond. These experiences have helped shape his expertise in music production, arranging and musical direction, including producing backing tracks, creating arrangements for large ensembles and directing touring productions in large-scale theatrical environments around the world.

Now based in Melbourne, HB Sax has established himself in the local live music scene, bringing his international experience and versatility to a diverse range of performances. Recent projects include serving as Musical Director and soundtrack creator for the dance production Ballroom Blitz, including a tour of France in 2025.
